Vision
The Buddha’s teachings are vast and profound. Until today the instructions of
the Buddha have been upheld in an unbroken lineage of practitioners who, by taking his teachings
of wisdom and compassion to heart, liberated their being and attained enlightenment. Rangjung
Yeshe Gomde strives to provide an authentic environment for the study and practice of the Buddha’s
wisdom tradition making this rich heritage available to an international audience. Through this
activity Rangjung Yeshe Gomde aspires to facilitate increased understanding between the East
and the West in the areas of religion, psychology, science, philosophy, and health.

Land
Rangjung Yeshe Gomde was purchased in spring 2004 by the German speaking Sangha of Chökyi
Nyima Rinpoche – the founder and spiritual head of the land. Known locally as Guth zu Rath
(Good Advice), the estate is idyllically situated in the foothills of the Upper Austrian Alps.
The main building is an impressive castle-like manor sheltering a large inner court yard ideal
for large gatherings. The building has more than a thousand square meters of living space offering
great possibilities for various types of spiritual activity. The fifteen acres of land includes
a small natural forest and offers a breath-taking view of the foothills of the Austrian Alps.
Location
Rangjung Yeshe Gomde is peacefully situated just outside the town of Gmunden in Upper
Austria. The land is centrally located in the heart of Europe and is easily reached within a
few hours from many European cities such as Munich, Vienna, Graz and Zurich. >>> Map
